parents?

My mother has some friends over, and I am not going to lie, but it kind of disgusts me (sorry mum, if you are reading this, but your friends are pathetic). They are all grown successful women, but they are down there talking behind about people, gossiping, and spreading rumors.

It's sad; they have more drama in their lives than I do.

And now they are leaving, off to go drink some wine.

These women are more in high school than I am.

love letters

Dear Jim Dale,
You are my favorite person ever.

Much love,
Sophie

yarn

Today, Katherine (I really do have other friends, I just seem to do the most interesting things with her...) and I went to the local yarn shoppe. Inspired by our recent jaunt to the Sheep and Wool Festival, we have decided to knit more.
She needed yarn, and I knew where the store was, so, after school, we walked a mile to find her some yarn.
The store is a very small, local business, and we were the only customers in the store for the 30 minutes we were there. It was very interesting. We over heard the boy who worked there talking on the phone about, "Bunny rabbits... my girlfriend...allergic."

We are not really sure how these phrases were connected, and it provided us amusement on the way home:
Was he allergic to his bunny rabbit, and was telling his girlfriend?
Was his girlfriend allergic to bunny rabbits?
Was his bunny rabbit allergic to his girlfriend?

This poor shop boy was also trying to be helpful, and tried to engage Katherine in a conversation that went along the lines of:
SB-"So what are you planning to make with this yarn?"
K-"A scarf"
SB-"Hmmm...do you have a pattern in mind?"
K-"...no..."
SB-"Oh, well you might be cutting it a bit close, I usually go with 300 yards rather than 200 yards for a scarf."
K-"Mhm. Okay."

At this point, Katherine gets her change and rushes out of the store.

After we leave the store, she asks me, "WHAT ON EARTH WAS HE TALKING ABOUT!? His mouth was moving and words were coming out, but HE WAS TALKING GIBBERISH."

Katherine has trouble understanding "yarn-speak".

After she left, I started my own knitting project. I haven't knitted in so long, and it might turn out to be a complete failure, but I am trying to knit a hat out of this insane, bright orange yarn.
Instead of doing my homework, I am knitting, listening to Jim Dale read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and enjoying the sound of rain hitting my window.

'Tis quite lovely.

rain

It rained all day today, and it was kind of nice.
Every once in a while, you need a little rain. It's cathartic.
Like crying.
And there is a certain energy in being inside your lovely, fluorescent-lit class room when it is pouring rain out side.
It is one of my favorite feelings
As I write this, a song about rain started playing on my itunes. It is lovely.

stalker

Now that BEDA is over, I have lost my NEED to blog.
I will just have to force myself to do it anyway...

ENTER POINTLESS RAMBLING ABOUT MY LIFE

Last night was the Junior Prom (or J-Prom, as the cool kids call it)at my school. I didn't go; I am a Sophomore, and all my Junior friends are either girls or dating someone.
BUT TODAY ALL THE PICTURES ARE UP!
I spent my entire morning planted in front of my computer, refreshing facebook, in hopes that new pictures will appear.

My lameness is inspiring.

I finally decided that I should do something, because there no one had posted new pictures. And I can only look at the same people lined up in different orders so many times (after 30 pictures, you get a little bored)

SO I MADE MUFFINS!
They are cherry chocolate chip, and they are delicious. I highly recommend them to everyone.

--I DON'T KNOW HOW TO CHANGE MY SUBJECT VERY WELL--

Yesterday, Katherine and I went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival.
It was tons of fun. And now I want to learn how to knit better. The people there could make such cool things with yarn and wool.
I also want to learn how to spin wool and weave and felt and raise sheep.

While we were there, we ran into our friend Nick. AND IT WAS REALLY WEIRD!

We were walking in, and I heard someone say my name, and I turned around, AND THERE WAS SOMEONE WE KNEW!
He was there working--counting cars and carrying things for people.

It was nice to see him.

Well, that is really all I have to say.

TIME WARP

HELLO!

POST BEDA BLOG!

I solemnly swear that I will continue to blog (almost) everyday.
I mean, I didn't actually blog every day in April.

Hopefully I can do better in May.

Today the WEIRDEST thing happened EVER.
My friend Katherine and I we were hanging out after school. We were in my room, watching youtube videos, getting frustrated at my computer, deciding that my computer was out to get us, and discussing the anatomy of our faces. (Apparently her cheeks get in the way of her vision sometimes. She is a little odd)

We got home around 3:30.
After about 10 minutes, we looked at the clock and it was 6:00
We freaked out, because obviously we had been TAKEN INTO A GIANT TIME WARP
We went downstairs on the brink of nervous breakdown, and panicked when we couldn't find my brother.
WHAT IF IT WAS ACTUALLY THREE DAYS LATER AND EVERYONE HAD LEFT US?!!?
We then found him, and he gave us lots of odd looks, and told us that we had gone insane.
We settled for that we either fell asleep, blacked out, or just got really distracted.

IT WAS VERY WEIRD!

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

AWKWARD CHANGE OF SUBJECT

Today at school we voted for next year's fall play. The two options were It's A Wonderful Life and something about the Brothers Grimm.
Because I am Vice President of Stage Crew, I had to look at it from a purely Stage Crew-oriented perspective and I voted for the Brothers Grimm (or as we called it for the duration of the meeting Bros over Hos).
Sadly (or maybe not, because I am really excited), It's a Wonderful Life won.
It will be more boring for the Stage Crew, but I think it is better suited for our actors.

I AM SO PSYCHED FOR NEXT YEAR!

After the voting, Katherine, Jaime (our sound/light manager), Dan (our Stage Crew President) and I explored the auditorium and talked about how we are going to "revolutionize" our Stage Crew.
Next year is going to be great.
Dan and I both went to this super-rich magnet middle school where the school plays were professional theater quality (I am talking Broadway-level sets) and were totally spoiled by the directors skill and craftiness. When we came to our high school, we were sadly brought into the real world of poorly-funded arts programs.
But hopefully with organization and lots of hard work, we can bring some flair to our shows for the next two years.

YEY!
I LOVE STAGE CREW!

well.
That was a lot to say.

END OF BEDA

WAHHHHOOOO!!

BEDA IS OVERRRR!!!

Wait.

Pause.

I am sad to say that this is the last day of BEDA.
I really am going to miss having to blog every day.
It was a really nice way to force myself to procrastinate.
And it was really fun, and I feel like a learned a lot:

1. Without proofreading, sometimes my writing is a little rough. And my spelling sucks. (But I already knew the last one)
2. Making friends on the internet is FUN! (I LOVE YOU BEDA BUDDIES)
3. Writing makes me feel better.
4. Never let an over-critical family member read your blog. They will send you lots of annoying little emails commenting on your thoughts, and your spelling, and how much you suck. (Not so much the last one)
5. I have a certain love for lists. (Like this one)

IN OTHER NEWS!
My day today was long.
I was very tired.
I almost fell asleep about 15 times.
It was not fun, and being tired does nothing for my mood. I was pretty grumpy all day.

Nothing really happened.

GAH!
GAH!

My life is pretty boring.
Hopefully, something interesting will happen in the near future and I can talk about it here.
And end the lameness.

GHJHLSAKJDHSADLKJ.

I am going to stop now, I really want to go to bed on time.

SEE EVERYONE IN MAY!!

SOPHIE

p.s. I hopefully will continue to blog in the future.
If not, feel free to yell at me.
Because this is really good for me.

P.P.S sorry that this is so lame. I really suck for ending on such a boring note.

TO SPICE IT UP, HERE IS A PICTURE OF ME WITH A BOOK ON MY HEAD

I was on my way to meet John Green, and it was a long ride. We needed something to do.

AND HERE IS A PICTURE OF ME WITH THE KATHERINE (as in Hank Green's Wife) AND MY FRIEND KATHERINE

AND HERE IS A PICTURE OF ME AND KATHERINE WITH LAUREN (from the Moaning Myrtles)

Okay, I am done now.
